The ifo economic climate in the Eurozone has once again brightened up over the third quarter in 2007. This applies to both the current economic situation, which hit a six year high, and the long-term economic outlook. The latest provisional findings of the Ifo World Economic Survey (WES) forecast a sustainable economic upswing in the the second half of 2007. +++

A survey conducted in spring this year by the “Institute for Corporate Productivity” on the issue of “Use of Social Networking” revealed that employees also make use of Social Networking in their daily work. +++

Computer and video games have become very popular. In particular the interest in playing games over the internet is increasing strongly. More than one third (38%) of all PC gamers play games online and among PC gamers aged between 14 and 29 this percentage even amounts to 58%. Particularly popular are card and chess games, strategy and so-called multi-player games. +++

Europe´s GDP has grown much less in the second quarter than expected. Thus, GDP grow by just 0.3% in the Eurozone (EZ13) as compared to the first quarter and by only 0.5% in the EU27. In the first quarter of 2007 the growth rate had been +0.7% in the Eurozone and the EU27. These figures were provided by Eurostat, which is the EU´s statistical office. +++
