By the year 2012 more than 60% of mobile phones in Germany will function with UMTS and therefore provide their users with fast internet access, is the prediction by the German Association for Information Management, Telecommunications and New Media (BITKOM). Turnover generated by mobile data services in Germany without taking into account SMS and MMS services is therefore going to almost triple from 1.6 billion Euros in the year 2007 to 5.7 billion Euros in 2012. This is the finding of a study called “Mobile Life 2012″ which was carried out jointly by BITKOM and the Goldmedia consulting firm.

Auf der Systems (21.-24. Oktober 2008) in München stellt die Ibo Software GmbH am Stand 321, Halle A1 ihre neue Software zur Personalbedarfsplanung vor. Das Tool gibt unter anderem Antworten auf die Fragen, wie viele Mitarbeiterkapazitäten mit tatsächlich vorkommenden Aufgaben gebunden sind, wie häufig einzelne Aufgabe verrichtet werden, wie lange die Bearbeitung der Aufgabe im Durchschnitt und insgesamt dauert und welche Personen die entsprechenden Aufgaben wahrnehmen. Die Erhebungswerte lassen sich über verschiedene Zeiträume hinweg gegenüberstellen und geben Einblicke in die Entwicklung eines Unternehmens über mehrere Jahre hinweg.

Stuttgart and Munich most innovative regions in Germany
Greater Munich and Stuttgart are still by far the leading regions in Germany in terms of research and development. This is the finding of a study by the German institute for economic research (DIW) in Berlin. It also turned out that urban regions are more and more becoming important for industrial research while most regions in the east of Germany with the exception of Dresden have fallen further behind. 100 best brands in the world
Each year a ranking of the “The Best Global Brands” is compiled which immediately affects the value of a company. This year, however, this correlation also had the opposite effect: the financial crisis was detrimental to some brands, e.g. Merrill Lynch. The three top ranks once more went to Coca Cola, IBM and Microsoft. The three most important German brands are Mercedes Benz (rank 11, 2007: rank 10), BMW (rank 13, 2007: rank 13) and SAP (rank 31, 2007: rank 34).
8,8 Millionen Kameras
… wurden im vergangenen Jahr in Deutschland verkauft. In diesem Jahr erwartet die Branche einen Anstieg auf 9 Mio. Etwa 8,55 Mio. der 2007 verkauften Fotoapparate waren digitale Kameras, die restlichen knapp 300.000 analoge.

One percent more orders for industry in EU
The order volume by industry in the Eurozone (EZ15) has increased by 1.0% in July 2008 as compared to June which is a significant improvement with regard to the situation in June (-0.5%). In the EU27 the order intake even increased by 2.3% in July 2008 after stagnation in June. Without taking into account the shipbuilding industry, track vehicle building and air and the space craft industry the volume of incoming orders increased by 1.4% in the Eurozone and by 3.6% in the EU27.
